Test out Scout’s key features

Note: If you have not completed onboarding, please complete the Onboarding Steps first.

Step 1 - Test Talent Map

Review your Talent Map tab, and get familiar with your profiles. Also, search for some profiles you’re familiar with and check the click to WhatsApp functionality.

Step 2 - Test Search Functionality

Click New Search, run a search, play with your search filters, and create a Project from your search results. Learn more about searching with Scout

Step 3 - Project Functionality

Visit your Project page and add a job to a Project using the 3 dots at the top right. Create a sample job on your ATS just for testing and it will flow down to Scout. You can then link that job to a project. As soon as you link a job, you will notice the Recommendations tab. View profiles from there and add them to your Project pipeline.

Step 4 - Chrome Plug-in

Go to the Chrome Plug-in and make sure it is active. View two or three of your colleagues you have a first-degree connection with. View their contact info as well so their profiles will then be available in Scout. Select those profiles from your Talent Map and create a Project with them. Make sure you pick profiles that have email and LinkedIn URL visible on Scout.

Step 5 - Setup Engagement Flow

Visit the Candidate Engagement tab. Click on the Automated Flows Library sub-tab.

  • Click to add a new flow. Choose email + InMail and set up your templates. For test purposes, put in template one to go out after 1 hour and template 2 to go out after 1 day if they don’t respond.
  • Give the Flow a test name (e.g., first_name_Flow) so you can reference it later.

Step 6 - Test Engagement Flow

  • Go to the Project you had created with your colleagues.
  • Add a dummy job to it. If you don’t have a JD to link, just choose the ‘manual’ option and add a job that way. The job will get attached to your Project. And you will see the ‘Add to flow’ link become available.
  • Next, select your colleagues in the project and click ‘Add to flow’. Scout will give you the option of selecting a flow. Please select the one you created above.
  • Once you’ve done this and activated the flow, Scout will commence the outreach after a few minutes. We have put in a delay to allow for last-minute changes at the user’s end.
  • After 2 days, navigate to the Candidate Engagement > Engagements Dashboard page, click on your Job and view the engagement summary.

Step 7 - Resume Upload

Visit this tab, select some resumes you may have sitting in your laptop folders, and drag and drop them to this section. Scout will upload and tag these resumes for you.
