Review submissions
The BD Dashboard shows how your business development work is going for a chosen period: new prospects and clients, jobs won, outreach results and the candidates you submitted to clients.
Before you start
- Business Development must be enabled for your organization. If you do not see Switch to Business Development in the sidebar, ask an organization admin.
- Users with only the Recruiter Lite role do not see the BD workspace.
- Numbers come from your own activity: contacts and companies you add, BD sequences you run, and candidates you submit. See Submitting a candidate to a client for how submissions are recorded.
Steps
OPEN the BD Dashboard
- In the sidebar, click Switch to Business Development. It opens in a new tab.
- Click Dashboard in the BD sidebar. The page title is My Business Development (
/bd/dashboard). - Under the title, a one-line summary says how many new prospects and jobs won there were in the period, for example “12 new prospects and 2 jobs won this period.” If there were none, it says “No new prospects or jobs won in this period.”
CHANGE the date range
- Open the date range menu at the top right. It lists This month, Last month, This quarter (the default), Year to date and Custom range.
- Pick a preset, or choose Custom range and fill in Start date and End date.
- Click Apply. Click Clear to reset the draft selection.
The range applies to every widget on the page. Each KPI also shows a change “vs previous period”.
CHANGE whose data you see (admins)
Organization admins see a Scope control next to the date range:
- Mine shows only your data.
- Org shows the whole organization.
- View as… lets you pick a teammate. This always shows that person’s own data, regardless of Org.
Everyone else only ever sees their own data, and the control is hidden.
READ the KPI cards
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| New Prospects | Prospect companies plus prospect contacts added in the period. The small text splits it into companies and contacts. Click the card to open BD contacts. |
| New Clients | Companies that became clients in the period, with the number of client contacts and how many prospects were converted. Click to open BD companies. |
| Jobs Won | New jobs that came from conversions (“New jobs from conversions”). Click to open Jobs. |
| Conversions | Prospects converted to clients, plus the share of new prospects that converted, for example “25.0% of new prospects converted”. |
If the numbers cannot load, you see “Could not load business development analytics.” with a retry button. Scout never shows zeros in place of an error.
READ the Engagement Summary
Engagement Summary covers outreach from your BD sequences. Its subtitle reads “N sent across N contacts in N sequences”.
- Outreach volume compares Sent and Replied, with the change vs the previous period.
- Reply rate, View rate and Click rate are shown as percentages. Reply rate also shows the change vs the previous period.
- Click View sequences to open BD email sequences.
- With no outreach in the period it shows “No outreach in this period”, with Find contacts and Go to sequences buttons.
READ Tracked Companies
Tracked Companies lists “Daily job listings from your watchlist.” in the columns Job, Posted and Actions. Click Track New to add a company in the Company Watchlist. If it is empty, it says “Track a company from the extension to see jobs here.”
READ Submitted Candidates
Submitted Candidates lists candidates you sent to projects and employers in the period, with a total such as “12 total in this period”. Columns:
- Candidate: opens the candidate profile in a new tab.
- Submitted To: the project, employer company or contact, as a link. It shows “No target recorded” when none was chosen.
- Submitted: the date and a relative day.
- Current Folder / Status: the candidate’s current pipeline folder, such as Submitted, Interview, Placed or Rejected, or “No folder recorded”.
Click View jobs to open Jobs. A long list is paged. With nothing to show: “No submissions in this period”.
ATTRIBUTE a candidate submission to a client
Submissions only appear in Submitted Candidates when Scout knows which client they went to. Scout asks when you download a candidate document:
- Download a Masked Resume (PDF), Masked Resume (DOCX) or Standardized Resume from the candidate profile actions menu, or from a candidate card on a job board (Generate menu). For a Candidate Report, the report dialog has a built-in attribution picker.
- The dialog Submitting this to a Client? opens (“Link this download to a client submission. This is tracked on the Business Development dashboard.”).
- Pick the tab Job, Company or Contact, search, and select the target. Click Add a note if you want to record a note.
- Click Download. To skip, leave nothing selected and click Skip & Download; that download is not attributed.
When you download from inside a job, Scout uses that job automatically and does not ask. Attribution builds the BD history of the client or prospect and drives the conversion numbers.
What you should see
- The title My Business Development with a summary line, the date range and (for admins) Scope controls.
- Four KPI cards, an Engagement Summary, Tracked Companies and Submitted Candidates.
- Figures update live when your BD data changes.

Pro BD Tip
Use Org scope with Year to date to see which team members drive the most conversions, then use View as… to check an individual’s activity.
