SEEK and its sister sites JobStreet and JobsDB can feed Scout in four ways. Which part you use depends on whether you work in the web app or the Chrome extension.

Part Where it lives
SEEK Prospect source badge Web app (candidate cards and profile). Candidates are created when you save them with the Chrome extension.
Saving SEEK Talent candidates (single and bulk) Chrome extension on SEEK Talent
Starting a search from a job link Web app (New Search) for pasted links. Chrome extension for job pages you are browsing.
Watching a company’s Seek or JobStreet jobs Web app, Business Development Company Watchlist

Before you start

  • For saving candidates or starting searches from a job page, install and sign in to the Chrome Extension. The extension works on SEEK, JobStreet and JobsDB pages.
  • Saving from SEEK Talent needs you to be signed in to your own SEEK employer account (SEEK Talent) in the same browser. Scout reads the page using that session.
  • The company watchlist is in the Business Development workspace (see Company Watchlist).

Steps

SAVE candidates from SEEK Talent (extension)

The extension recognises these SEEK Talent pages and saves what you see:

SEEK Talent page What Scout saves
Talent search results The profiles in the current page of results (bulk save)
Job candidate matches The recommended candidates for that job on the current page (bulk save)
A talent pool The candidates in that pool page (bulk save)
A single profile page or profile drawer That one profile (single save)
  1. Open one of the pages above while signed in to SEEK Talent and to Scout.
  2. Open the Scout drawer if it is not already open (see Chrome Extension). Opening the drawer on a results, matches or pool page saves the page’s candidates in bulk. There is no separate Save button for the list.
  3. For a single profile, the drawer saves the profile and then shows it. This happens in the sourcing mode. In Business Development mode the drawer shows Available in Sourcing instead.
  4. Move to the next page of results to save the next set.

Bulk saves finish in the background, so the candidates can take a short while to appear in Scout.

FIND SEEK candidates in Scout

  1. Saved candidates carry a SEEK Prospect badge (rose-coloured) on candidate cards and on the profile name row.
  2. Source counts list them as SEEK Prospect.
  3. If a profile has a SEEK link, a Seek icon is shown beside their other links.
  4. Open the candidate to work with them like any other: add them to a project, take notes and enrich them. See Candidate Profile.

In the web app:

  1. Click Sidebar > New Search.
  2. Paste the full job link into the box (placeholder “Describe the candidate you’re looking for, or paste a job description…”). If your text is mostly a link, Scout treats it as a job link.
  3. Click the round arrow button, or press Cmd + Enter (Mac) or Ctrl + Enter (Windows).
  4. Scout reads the job and takes you to Refine your search with the role, skills and location it found. Click Search. See New Search.

Supported links:

Site Supported hosts
SEEK seek.com.au, seek.co.nz
JobStreet id, my, ph and sg JobStreet sites (for example sg.jobstreet.com)
JobsDB hk and th JobsDB sites (for example hk.jobsdb.com)

Links must start with https:// and point to a specific job. Scout takes the job description, title, company and country from the job. If Scout cannot read the job directly, results can be less precise. If it still fails, copy and paste the job description as text.

In the extension: open a Seek, JobStreet or JobsDB job posting (or a Seek search page with a selected job). The drawer reads the job and shows the matching candidate search results. On JobsDB and JobStreet home pages it also follows the job you click in the recommended jobs overlay.

WATCH a company’s Seek or JobStreet jobs

  1. Click Sidebar > Switch to Business Development, then Sidebar > Company Watchlist.
  2. Click Track Company. In Track New Company, enter the Company Name, and add the company’s Seek or JobStreet page under Job Board URLs (Add Job Board URL).
  3. Scout recognises Seek and JobStreet addresses. Click Track Company.
  4. New jobs appear in the Tracked Jobs tab and on the Dashboard’s Tracked Companies panel. See Company Watchlist.

JobsDB pages are not supported on the Company Watchlist. Only Seek and JobStreet are.

What you should see

  • After a bulk save: new candidates with the SEEK Prospect badge in your database.
  • After a job link search: the Refine your search screen filled with the job’s details.
  • After tracking a Seek or JobStreet company page: its jobs listed in the watchlist.
